Job Posting: Act Five Admissions & Communications Assistant
Act Five Initiatives is seeking an Admissions & Communications Assistant, proposed to begin ASAP. This is an hourly position, with anticipated but flexible hours at 5-10 hrs/wk.

Based out of Hamilton, ON, Act Five is beginning its sixth program year in Fall 2024. Act Five operates out of a large home in a downtown Hamilton neighbourhood, running a Gap Year Program and a Residency Program.
Key Responsibilities
Admissions and Recruitment
Organize visit schedule – with schools, churches, conferences, camps, etc.
Write Mailchimp emails and communications with leads, based on provided input and templates from Act Five’s leadership team
Reply to inquiries, directing people as needed from the info@actfive.ca email
Track communications and following up with leads
Maintain the Act Five application, update it as needed, and send it out to leads
Inform social media strategy and content to push applications
Assist in conference visits and open houses or other events, as schedule allows
Work cooperatively with the leadership team of Act Five to manage incoming students and prepare them for the program year
Administration
Website edits to pages and forms
Act Five CRM organization (online database platform, training provided)
Swag ordering and organization
Inform design and assist with ordering materials for promotional and marketing purposes
Skills & Abilities:
Must have previous experience with Act Five; preference for previous students or residents.
Must have a desire to learn and be teachable. Act Five will provide all the training necessary to learn specific software, skills and content areas.
Must demonstrate an ability to work independently and be organized; to take initiative; and to communicate effectively – orally and through written communications.
Must have some previous skills in Google docs, calendar, spreadsheets, data entry, typing, and digital communications (i.e. Mailchimp and emails).
Education/Experience:
Minimum high school diploma. Priority given to those with post-secondary education completed or in progress. Prior experience with the Act Five program is an asset.
Salary & Hours:
$18.50/hourly, 5-10 hours per week averaged monthly. Probationary hiring through December 20, 2024; if approved, to be extended beyond this point.
