The PROJECT
Establishing Home and creating a vibrant space is a critical step in sustaining and expanding Act Five’s mission towards seeing young adults living wholeheartedly as disciples of Jesus, walking faithfully in the contexts of school, church, neighbourhood, and work.
With monthly rent pulling funding away from programming, and spaces that could not be renovated for learning and hospitality, the challenges by the end of 2024 pointed to the ownership and renovation of 75 Blake St.
Investment in young adults is as important as ever and every gift means more funding directly for programming instead of interest payments on mortgage and loans.
SECURING THE HOME (2025)
Between January-May 2025, our community raised enough funds to complete the purchase of 75 Blake St.
PHASE one renovations (2025)
The first phase of renovations laid the groundwork for the larger projects to be finished in 2026.
$30,000 of property costs were redirected toward programming.
PHASE two renovations (2026)
The second phase included significant renovations to all major living spaces and property foundations. The home is finished.
closing the chapter
After final renovation bills, $40,000 of funds remain to carry forward to begin paying back loans.
What remains are $300,000 in short-term loans and a $600,000 mortgage at 6.24%.
Every new gift frees up more funding for programming and new initiatives.
CLOSING the chapter
With renovations completed and the home full, what remains is paying down short-term loans and mortgage to turn our attention toward forming and preparing young people for lives as rooted & engaged followers of Jesus.
Comprehensive renovations have made the Act Five residence a more suitable space for community, learning, and hospitality.
$300,000 is needed by 2028 to pay down short term loans. We also carry a $600,000 mortgage at 6.24%.
Opening our doors wide and telling our story in more places is possible now that we have Established Home.
