"I think this is the kind of thing that gives you experience and preparedness that you'll take into the rest of your life... It's a lifelong lesson learned."

Differences in the Church are not just helpful, but essential. They are a necessary element of God’s Kingdom. His purpose is fulfilled through the different gifts of each “part” when we come together as a whole.

"God is... moving, he’s reconciling, he’s redeeming everywhere. To get to see that, all over the world as well as in our own home, gives us a bigger vision of who God is. I’m excited to share that vision with others in our community."

"Throughout the entire trip, I saw God in how alive everyone was for Christ. But it wasn’t just the ‘one-hour-after-worship’ kind of alive. They were living their lives for Jesus."

"I would invite someone to live in this home if they have an itch to experience a different vision of what it means to be a follower of Jesus in our context."

We are free to be truly human and to experience the fullness of life in Christ when we choose submission, when we choose limitation, when we choose to die to ourselves and our own wishes.

Our role as stewards is not to know or understand better than non-humans could, not to use power as a way of ruling; but to let ourselves come back to children, to love because we have moved into our own neighbourhoods.

God forever longs to invite us into more than we can imagine, again and again saying to us, "See, I am doing a new thing." The question will always remain - Do we have room to receive Him as he chooses to dwell among us in a new way?

Our students are finding belonging here at Blake Street. They are learning how to love one another for who they are, and how to see each other and themselves as Christ does.

Our students have now completed 9 weeks of what we call “Ordinary Time” at Act Five. Ordinary time is when we choose to declare that our ordinary moments matter.

"We saw students on this trip develop a deeper understanding and experience of our God through connection with the natural world and our Indigenous neighbours"

While rest is important, and a huge part of what we as Christians are called to practice as an act of faith(fulness) in a world of hustle, we are also called to engage. We are called to spend ourselves on things worth spending ourselves on.
